RecipeTin Eats founder Nagi Maehashi has revealed the simple $1.33 item from IKEA you’ll always find in her kitchen.

The popular Aussie cookbook author said she’s obsessed with the HEAT pot stands, which come in a pack of three for $4.

‘Love IKEA pot stands,’ Nagi said in her Instagram Stories.

‘No nonsense. Cheap. I have dozens of them.’

The ‘perfect’ cork mats are used to protect surfaces such as countertops and dining tables from heat damage caused by hot pots, pans and dishes.

And she’s not the only fan, with the product earning than 2,830 five-star reviews from happy shoppers.

‘There’s a reason you see these in kitchens everywhere. They work great and are so cheap… A kitchen staple,’ one shared.

‘Love these, have been buying them for decades in our family. They save your countertops and expensive dining tables from heat marks. Great, reliable product,’ another revealed.

‘I have been using these for quite a few years and love them. They’re practical and work as expected. When they get nasty (usually after two to four years) just chuck them out and replace them,’ one said.

‘This is my second purchase of these pot stands, they’re great quality, last for a long time and are very inexpensive. Does the job,’ another added.

Nagi’s recommendation comes after she sent shoppers rushing to buy the $29 frying pan from IKEA that she believes is better than $300 European brands.

She said she stopped spending hundreds of dollars on high-end cookware after she discovered the HEMKOMST frying pan, which has since become her go-to.

‘The best non-stick frypan is from IKEA,’ Nagi said on her Instagram Stories.

‘I stopped buying $300 European brands years ago. This IKEA one does the job just as well, lasts just as long and is a fraction of the price.

‘Works well on induction. Oven proof. Steep sides for max flat base searing area. My most used pan.’

The popular cookbook author owns all three sizes – 28cm (currently on sale for $29, reduced from $35), 24cm ($25) and 32cm ($39).

Last week, Nagi sent shoppers rushing to buy the must-have $29 frying pan from IKEA that she believes is better than $300 European brands

The cook behind RecipeTin Eats said she stopped spending hundreds of dollars on high-end cookware after she discovered the IKEA pans (pictured with her beloved dog Dozer)

’28cm is my all rounder – good size for regular stove heating elements… 32cm for clans, you need a wide heat source and 24cm for nuts and a single sunny side up egg,’ she said.

Nagi said she discovered the IKEA frying pans after a chef recommended them.

‘I got the tip from a chef, read about it in an interview. He said he uses IKEA pans in his restaurant,’ she explained.

The frying pan is made from stainless steel with a non-stick coating, is oven-safe, easy to use, and compatible with most hobs – including induction and gas.

Her recommendation sent fans wild, with one saying: ‘If Nagi says they’re the best, then you’d best believe I’m heading to IKEA.’
