Al-Mandouh said in statements to MBC Misr: “The atmosphere in Zamalek is not good at all. Zamalek’s problem goes beyond the team’s results.”

The treasurer added: “It amounts to a real collapse of the club. We took over management of Zamalek while it was ill, and now it is at the point where it is waiting for death.”

He explained: “What is happening now is unnatural. The hope for Zamalek was to invest in the club’s assets, including the plot of land that was recently withdrawn from it.”

He continued: “In fact, I feel that we are being punished for something we are not guilty of at all, and since we took over responsibility at the end of 2023, we have worked to turn the wheel of investment in the October branch to build it.”

In response to a question about the possibility of Zamalek declaring bankruptcy, Al-Mandouh replied, saying: “We do not hope to reach this stage.”

He added: “Zamalek’s mainstay is its fans. We are in a disaster and not just a crisis. There are no solutions over a long period of time. Rather, we are solving the solution day after day. The club’s hope was the ground and hope has been withdrawn from us.”

Hossam Al-Mandouh concluded his statements by saying: “The failure to return to Zamalek’s land is a serious threat to the club and its future. The current situation cannot be solved by sponsorship contracts, satellite broadcasting, or donations. We obtained loans in large sums.”
