Kylie Jenner can pinpoint exactly where her “King Kylie” era began.

During a Wednesday, Oct. 22 Life in Looks session with Voguethe 28-year-old reality star and mogul flipped through a book filled with pages of some of her iconic fashion moments.

One, in particular, was what Jenner said sparked her love for colored hair, leading to one of her most recognizable phases to date.

“My first runway show. It was for Avril Lavigne‘s clothing line at the time,” the Kylie Cosmetics founder said of the 2011 opportunity in her teenage years.

She continued, “This feels like a lifetime ago, but I love (it) to this day. I remember I wasn’t nervous at all, I was so confident.”

The image was her at the end of a runway, a hand on each hip as she wore a black mini dress. The top portion was a fitted lace design that transitioned to tulle at her waist.

Her nails were short and polished black, and her makeup was also done with smoky black eyeliner.

“I loved my pink tips,” Jenner said of the bottom of her hair, which was noticed lighter than her dark roots.

“This probably started honestly, my love for colored hair,” Jenner said. “Because it wasn’t real hair dye.”

She explained, “They put, like, chalk in my hair or something, and I was obsessed.”

Jenner also recalled a video of her walking down the runway in another outfit during the same show and making rockstar hand symbols and sticking her tongue out.

“And then my family’s, like, cheering for me. This is like the beginning of King Kylie,” she said.

The Khy CEO recently revived her “King Kylie” era — which was characterized by bright and bold wigs and makeup choices to match — with a new collection to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of Kylie Cosmetics.

“I changed my hair color like once a week and cut my hair off and then put a wig on or put extensions in,” she told Harper’s Bazaar in May about her commitment to switching up her hairstyles back in the day. “It’s just a part of who I am…”

For the Kylie Cosmetics anniversary rollout, Jenner was photographed wearing a cropped black-and-white tank top with the word “KING” in all caps, paired with curve-hugging low-waist leather pants.
